LEARN MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM

What Is Alien Hoops?

About The Program

Alien Hoops is a competitive youth travel basketball program dedicated to developing disciplined athletes, strong students, and confident young leaders both on and off the court. Our program combines high-level basketball training with academic accountability, offering free tutoring, mentorship support, hardship assistance for qualifying families, and team-building trips and experiences designed to strengthen leadership, teamwork, and character. All participants are expected to maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA to remain eligible for the program, reinforcing our belief that success in the classroom is just as important as success on the court. Through this balanced approach, Alien Hoops works to create opportunities for young athletes while building a supportive environment that encourages personal growth, responsibility, and long-term achievement.

What To Bring To Tryouts

To ensure each athlete is fully prepared for evaluation, please arrive on time and bring the following items:

  • Basketball (if available)
  • Athletic basketball shoes (court-ready, non-marking soles recommended)
  • Athletic clothing suitable for high-intensity drills and scrimmages
  • Water bottle (hydration is essential)
  • Completed registration confirmation (digital or printed)
  • Positive attitude and strong effort β€” coaches evaluate hustle, teamwork, and coachability just as much as skill.

Athletes should arrive 15–20 minutes early for check-in and warm-up to ensure a smooth start to each session.

Ready To Compete?

Roster spots are limited, and each season brings new opportunities for dedicated athletes who are ready to grow, compete, and represent the Alien Hoops program with pride. If your athlete is committed to improving their game, working hard in the classroom, and being part of a positive, team-first culture, we encourage you to register for tryouts today.

Academic Scholarships / Program Dues

Program Fees & Academic Scholarship

Program Fees are based on the student athletes performance in the classroom.

2.5 GPA and Higher: $150 per month

(Includes tournament fees, team outings, and travel expenses.) All Student-Athletes who meets this GPA requirement qualifies as long as funds are available.

2.0 GPA: $250 per month

Students can apply for an academic scholarship at any time during the school year.

Financial Hardship

Financial hardship consideration is available for all families. Players applying for Financial Hardship consideration must have a 2.5 GPA to qualify. Uniform cost, travel expenses, program dues and other cost may be covered. Inquire with the program director or apply directly at www.alienslovehumans.org.

Alien Hoops is committed to making competitive travel basketball accessible while encouraging strong academic performance. Student-athletes may participate in the program with a minimum 2.0 GPA, with standard annual player dues set at $250, which helps support tournament participation, gym rentals, training resources, and overall program operations.

All student-athletes who maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher automatically qualify for consideration for the Alien Hoops Academic Scholarship, made possible through the generous support of the Aliens Love Humans Foundation (ALHF) and our community partners. When scholarship funding is available, selected recipients receive reduced annual player dues of $150, and the Academic Scholarship may also assist with tournament entry fees and certain travel-related expenses, including support for hotel accommodations and airfare when applicable.

Academic Scholarship award amounts and availability may fluctuate based on annual program funding and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible student-athletes who complete the required documentation and maintain academic eligibility.
